The Podere Doganelle, bought by Orlando Pazzagli at the
beginning of the 1900s, is situated in the heart of the
Maremma and has ancient origins. It owes its name to the old
Customs checkpoint which during the middle ages controlled
the traffic of salt. It is currently run by Giulio Bocci,
Orlando's great-grandson.
The holding has an expanse of
115 hectares, cultivating mostly wheat, sunflowers, Tomatoes
and alfalfa, it also has an age-old olive grove. Olive oil
produced and sold directly is extra virgin of high quality,
obtained from the pressing of oil on a type of oil press
made of holm oak.
On the farm live the horses Assuan,
Florio, Waldi, Gran Duca and Zena and lots of country
animals.
